Hopi Pueblo Pottery
Ergil Vallo signs his pottery
Dalawepi

<><><>

Dalawepi is Hopi.

His pottery is heavy, solid  - yet graceful.

Dalawepi's art is as much painting as it is pottery.

He inscribes to his pottery ancient symbols,
animals, and Hopi Kachinas.

But his work goes beyond that,
his use of brilliant colors seems to give his work a
magnetic appeal.

One can't help but get beautifully lost
as you wonder from image to image.

Each image perfectly balanced in the pottery.

After the work is fired,
Dalawepi applies colors
by grinding fine stone
... azurite, malachite, turquoise ...

*** Never wash or rub these pots.
The colors are ground gemstones. turquoise, azurite, (and others)
that are applied after the firing.  Washing or rubbing
these pots will remove these colors.
