Fannie Nampeyo (1900 - 1987)
Hopi Pot
Prosperity
Design
Corn, Sun, Rain Clouds
Dr Wade said it was made in the 1950's
It measures 6" tall by 8" across
There is a scratch in
the slip that very gently winds up and
down half the pot (like far off mountains or clouds). The pot
still sings when you tap it. That would not happen were the
pot cracked. It appears to me that the scratch was made when the
slip was still wet and the scratch was painted
along with the rest of the pot.
Fannie Nampeyo pottery is very collectible and rarely for sale
$6,800
